We did a Nashville City Tour today & then we strolled down Lower Broadway or The Honky Tonk Highway! It was fun. Went in and listened to some bands. It’s just amazing the History in Nashville!! Some of the biggest Country Stars got their start right on Lower Broadway!! We saw the Parthenon built to look like the one in Greece. Saw the Ryman Auditorium & the Stadium for the Tennessee Titans!! Also saw the Hermitage Hotel that supposedly has a fantastic men’s restroom! LOL Also the beautiful Vanderbilt University. Weather was nice & no humidity! Tomorrow night we are going to the Grand Ole Opry!! Still loving Tennessee!!😎
Dollywood today! The temp was warm but no humidity! It was great! We were there when the park opened & they start with singing the National Anthem! How awesome!! 🇺🇸😎Saw a lot of shows with a lot of talent!! There are lots of rides for the youngins & we loved everything about the place!! We did a lot of walking but if you’re not up to it you can rent the motorized four wheelers!! Whatever they are called!! Southern Gospel Museum is there with the Blackwood Bros original bus they converted to a tour bus!! Happy Goodman memorabilia’s things too! Lots of places to eat! It was a fun day!!
Well we took abuse from the waiter Kyle, which was quite the character, at Dicks Last Resort in Gatlinburg Tennessee! If you don’t know, this place torments you for fun!! Lots of fun & my Baja Tacos were so good!! I’ve been to one other Dick’s in San Diego with my sister years ago! But I don’t think they are there anymore! Try to go to one at least once!! Loving retirement! God is good!
We spent the afternoon in the Great Smokey Mountains! Eastern Tennessee side & the Western North Carolina side!! The mist & fogginess that wafts through the trees looks like smoke! It’s just beautiful! We also walked a while on part of the Appalachian trail! If you are a big hiker you will love all the trails in the Smokey’s!! We were at the tallest part of the Smokies at Clingman Dome, North Carolina! The little Tennessee town of Gatlinburg sits at the base of the Smokey Mountains & is so darling!! There is so much to do in this area! It’s just breathtaking! Of the three prominent towns, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg, I’d have to say Gatlinburg would be my place!! The other two towns are great but tons of traffic for the area. They say it’s a lot lighter now than it was in Summer! Yikes!! We finished our afternoon with a Baseball Nut ice cream from Baskin Robbins!! It was yummy! Such a beautiful place here in the Smokey Mountains!
The Ark Encounter is wonderful! Noah was so faithful to follow God & just trust Him to build the Ark!! Can you imagine?? When you come take the day to see it all. There are many videos that you should see & today they are having a Southern Gospel group & Ken Ham (Answers in Genesis)is going to be here so we are hanging around! This was his dream & the Creation Museum! It’s a lot of walking but if I can do it you can. They have motorized carts & wheelchairs to rent if needed!! There are places to eat, the Ararat Zoo with petting areas. Zip lines & kids play areas. Lots to do & see!! We stayed in a nice RV Park in Georgetown KY but there are other places to stay! 🙏🏻🇺🇸😎
Well today we took the Metra train from Joliet, Illinois, were we are in a nice RV park, to Chicago! It took a little over an hour & was great as there is so much traffic in Chicago & parking can be expensive. We paid $10 each RT because it was a weekend!! We also did a Groupon for the Chicago Red Trolley & Double Decker Tour. Great & it takes you all over town & you can hop on & off. Went to Navy Pier & had a yummy Chicago Deep Dish Pizza! It was great! It was a small & we brought most of it home! Did The Ledge at the Skydeck in the Willis Tower! The tallest building in the Western Hemisphere! The Architecture of the buildings in Chicago is amazing! Some from the 1800’s & some Ultra Modern! The River Walk is awesome too! It was beautiful weather & a fun day! Put Chi Town on your bucket list! 🇺🇸😎
We only have four more days in the UP! I love it up here! Surrounded by Great Lakes & Rivers & more Lakes! The weather has been awesome!! Cool with breezes, occasional thunderstorms that come & go quickly! We’ve eaten a lot of fish! Walleye, Perch, hamburgers…oh 🤣we’ve had all kinds of good food up here! Tried a Pastie (Pass Tee) for the first time & have had them a few more times! Had a Vernors, only in Michigan ginger soda! We’ve embraced being Yoopers!! The Michiganders have been so welcoming!! We went for a walk on the boardwalk & saw the lighthouse in town (Manistique) again today. About every 10th vehicle on Hwy 2 is an RV! If you ever have the chance to visit the UP you won’t be disappointed! Mackinac Island is like a step back in time & so enchanting, Soo Locks & Sault (Soo) Ste Marie is just a darling town & dates back to the 1600’s! That’s old for America! 🇺🇸 In our two years of full timing & just starting our third year, we have seen so much of this beautiful Country!! And excited that there is so much more to see! Have a blessed week! We had a sundae to finish our day!😳😎
Lake Superior is beautiful & we had a great time on the Glass Bottom Boat Tour of a couple of Shipwrecks! Plus we saw a couple of Bald Eagles! It was windy but still breathtaking!! 😎
We took a walk along the Lake Michigan Boardwalk in Manistique, MI! Just beautiful! Thank you Jesus & Dr Casey for my new knee! It’s working great!
🙏🏻🇺🇸😎 Then we went to Clyde’s Drive in & it was so yummy! Loved our young Car Hop! She was great! Those burgers were sooo good!! Fries were crispy like we asked for!! 😎 @ Manistique Boardwalk

We are loving the UP! Manistique, Michigan is such a cute town & the Boardwalk along Lake Michigan is fun & just a beautiful area!! We ate at a daring place in town called Cedar St Cafe!! I’m sure we will go there again while we are here! It was yummy! Today we went to Kitch iti Kipi “Big Springs” located within the Palms Book State Park! The water was so clear & huge brown & Lake trouts in it. It was fun to take a raft on a pulley system across the Springs & watch the springs bubble up from below!! Just a gorgeous area!! We are blessed to live in such a beautiful Country!😎🇺🇸
We had such a great time in St Ignace, Michigan!! We were so excited to try a Pasties (Pass-Tees) for the first time! They were yummy! It’s like a baked chicken or beef pot pie but shaped like a turnover!! Also tried the Michigan fav, Vernors soda! It too was yummy. It’s a ginger soda kind of like a mild ginger ale! After I drank it & loved it, I looked at the sugar content….38 grams of sugar in one drink!! Yikes! I think that’s my first & last Vernors but I sure enjoyed it! St Ignace is such a darling town. It’s right along Lake Huron!! Just beautiful!! The UP ( Upper Peninsula) of Michigan has been awesome! Great weather, good food & the people are warm & friendly! Hope we can make it back here someday!!😎🇺🇸
