We are loving the UP! Manistique, Michigan is such a cute town & the Boardwalk along Lake Michigan is fun & just a beautiful area!! We ate at a daring place in town called Cedar St Cafe!! I’m sure we will go there again while we are here! It was yummy! Today we went to Kitch iti Kipi โBig Springsโ located within the Palms Book State Park! The water was so clear & huge brown & Lake trouts in it. It was fun to take a raft on a pulley system across the Springs & watch the springs bubble up from below!! Just a gorgeous area!! We are blessed to live in such a beautiful Country!๐๐บ๐ธ

St Ignace, Michigan & Pasties!
We had such a great time in St Ignace, Michigan!! We were so excited to try a Pasties (Pass-Tees) for the first time! They were yummy! It’s like a baked chicken or beef pot pie but shaped like a turnover!! Also tried the Michigan fav, Vernors soda! It too was yummy. It’s a ginger soda kind of like a mild ginger ale! After I drank it & loved it, I looked at the sugar content….38 grams of sugar in one drink!! Yikes! I think that’s my first & last Vernors but I sure enjoyed it! St Ignace is such a darling town. It’s right along Lake Huron!! Just beautiful!! The UP ( Upper Peninsula) of Michigan has been awesome! Great weather, good food & the people are warm & friendly! Hope we can make it back here someday!!๐๐บ๐ธ
Mackinac Island!
Another fun day today!! Took the Sheplerโs Ferry to Mackinac Island. What a darling place! Iโm glad we went earlier in the day because by the time we left it was so crowded! We did the Carriage ride that takes you all over. And there are horses to rent, personal carriages & bikes! People also brought their own bikes on the ferry. No extra charge! You can also bring your dog with you. Very pet friendly. So many places to stay all night if youโd like! Several Hotels & B & Bโs! Lots of places to eat also! They are famous for their fudge so we got ours to bring back to the 5er! It was a beautiful day on the Island but it does get busy! We got there at 9:30 but when we go again it will be way earlier! We really loved everything about Mackinac Island! Put it on your bucket list!! ๐๐บ๐ธ
Sault (SOO) Ste Marie Michigan & Canada The Soo Locks Boat Tour!!
Wonderful adventure that starts on Lake Huron & goes through the Locks of St Mary’s River to Lake Superior! We were able to see a freighter go through & that was exciting!! It’s just a beautiful area so we decided after the tour to go on over the International Bridge & go into Sault Ste Marie Ontario Canada. We had lunch at a delicious Thai place! It was a fun day!! Stay tuned!!๐บ๐ธ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐
Upper Peninsula Friday Fish Fry!!
We went to a UP (Upper Peninsula)Fish Fry at Paint River Landing in Crystal Falls, Michigan! Didnโt know there was some Jazz music too. That was an extra bonus! Ricky had the Walleye which was delicious & I had the Perch & it too was yummy! Our white cheddar cheese curds were good too! A little different from the ones we had in South Dakota but good! Fun to enjoy the Jazz ๐ทas we ate!! On our way back home we saw about 20 wild turkeys ๐ฆ but they ran for cover under the wild ferns!! Have a great weekend! Itโs absolutely beautiful up here! ๐๐บ๐ธ
Minnesota, Wisconsin & the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan!!
Wow! God has out done Himself with the beauty of these States!!
We stayed in a wonderful campground in Aitkin Minnesota and the RV Sites were huge, green with grass & trees, picnic tables & fire pits at each site!! We were there two nights & will have to go back sometime & spend a month! And by the way, I’ve changed my perfume to…OFF! Not the greatest scent but it saved me from mosquitoes ๐ฆ ! Those booger’s don’t like Ricky but they sure like me!!๐๐คฃ
So then we headed towards Northern Wisconsin. As we approached the bridge in Duluth Minnesota to cross part of the Great Lake Superior, it was evident we were in for some more beauty!! Breath taking! We crossed over to Superior Minnesota. A darling town along side the lake with cute homes, marina & a Coal Generation Plant!!
We finally made it into Michigan, Pure Michigan!! More green trees & many more lakes & rivers!! With the occasional severe thunderstorms where it was just 78* & then we would have sound barrier breaking thunder, torrential rain & even hail! Scary!! But within a few minutes….all is right with the World!! LOL ๐คฃ๐๐คชIt’s hard to get used to when our former State of California never had thunder & storms such as this!! โ๐ณ We are here in the UP for awhile. This particular RV place in CrystalFalls for four nights! It’s just along the Paint River & truly awesome! God has truly out done Himself with the Upper Peninsula. So glad we will be in this area for a few weeks!! Going to a Walleye fish fry & Ricky is so excited! I’m excited for the white cheddar cheese curds!!
Until later! We love you all & thank you for your prayers during this exciting Adventure of our lives!! ๐บ๐ธ๐๐๐ป
Fargo North Dakota!
Well just about to the end of our week here. It’s a beautiful area & the folks are friendly. We made it through a couple of wild thunderstorms & also have seen some gorgeous sunsets! The diesel prices have been great too! ๐ณ
Everywhere we travel we trust our Heavenly Father to keep his hand of protection on us! We are blessed. ๐๐ป๐บ๐ธ
Found a great place for Fish & Chips! The Blarney Stone Pub! They had outdoor patio dining & the place looks like a pub I went to in Dublin Ireland! ๐๐
Excited for our next adventure & all the memories Ricky & I are making in our retirement!!
God is good!๐
New Mexico, Mexico, Amarillo, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, South & North Dakota!! Gotta get you caught up!!
Sorry it’s been so long!! ๐๐คฃWe changed itinerary several times…weather issues!! โ๏ธ๐ฆโ๐ช๐ฆWow!
We had a great time in Deming New Mexico & reconnected with friends, John & Bonnie Johansson who moved there from California. Dinners, visits, more food, talking about our wonderful Savior & enjoying our month there.
Then we went with fellow RVers down to Puerto Palomas Mexico for a fun lunch at The Pink Store!! Lots of fun!
Then up to Albuquerque where we filled our coffers with food, vitamins & such!!
Off to Amarillo for one night to love on my precious cousin, Tammy! We had a great ribeye dinner at The Big Texas & then we were off to Weatherford Oklahoma for one night! That was the cutest & cleanest & well manicured little town we’ve ever been in! The Walmart there was the nicest & neatest one we’ve ever been to!! And our RV park had storm shelter pits! Was grateful they had them & also grateful we didn’t need them!! Ok enough!! ๐ณ๐ฅด๐ช
Next we headed to Arkansas, Kansas to see kinfolks we’ve haven’t seen in years!! Our 93 yr old Aunt Lennis was just as sharp as could be! Plus to see our cousins Willa & Larry Rudolph! Great visit!!๐
Then we made our way through Nebraska & stayed one night in Onawa, Iowa! Cute little town!
Now we are in Fargo North Dakota for a week before we head across Minnesota, Wisconsin & finally to the Mackinac Island area! Major โ๐ฆthunderstorms here in Fargo!! Thunder was so loud it made us jump!! Lightening close too! God is our shield ๐ก & our protector during these times! ๐๐ปโฅ๏ธ
We feel so blessed to be traveling through this beautiful Country of ours! God is so good! ๐บ๐ธ
